Mutton

Mutton - Acrylic and spray on canvas - 120x150cm

The pusillanimous butcher has engaged the Pink Punk Protoband's Cheap Plastic Philosophy. The score so far: one tooth down each.

The other day I was looking at my latest painting and I felt it didn't say anything, I felt it was dead, so I took the spray an a few acrylics and I painted over it. I can feel it now.

Cheers!

2 and the Bandersnatch

2 and the Bandersnatch - Mixed media on canvas - 120x150cm

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Muchas gracias!

Today I want to share with you a few pictures of the works that I exhibited at Ecléctica two weeks ago. I’m very happy because I got some really nice comments about them. One of my deepest wishes is to be able to show a little bit of myself through the paintings and let people see and feel the work. Luckily, some people told me they felt a strong connection with Little Frankie, one of the paintings that I’m posting here today. They said that apart from their appreciation of the visible work, they could feel something they could not very easily describe, like a connection of some sort with the painting. I was very flattered and grateful and I hope I can achieve this again in the future.

When I paint, I try to do it from my intuition and the freedom it gives me not to paint for a specific target or to make a painting combine with a piece of furniture. This is not the reason why I paint. I paint because I feel a very strong need to do it and this is one of the very few things in life that make me feel truly free. I strive to interact with the canvas in the here and now and I feel that the final result is a reflection of that communion, a consequence that’s left behind as a register of something that happened at a determined point in time and that will never repeat itself.

I thank you all for following my blog. You are all very special to me!

Artistas:

Nicolás da Rocha
Delia Ana Iglesias Oderiz
Javier La Banca
Ximena Ledesma
Ezequiel Montero Swinnen

Fechas:

Viernes 5 de Noviembre - De 19 a 23 hs.
Sábado 6 de Noviembre - De 18 a 22 hs.

Entrada libre y gratuita.

Sin título - Acrílico sobre lienzo - 60x80cm

Levantate, dale, no seas remolón.

Goodbye cruel world,
I'm leaving you today

Summertime with a broken eye

Original photogram, marker, cut paper and other pieces of ugliness

Ella: Quedate adentro, hace frío afuera.
El: Pero si es verano...
Ella: No importa, hace frío igual.
